Yellow-eyed Grass : Sisyrinchium californicum

Golden-yellow stars shine atop lance-shaped stems.

A logical compliment to a planting of Blue-Eyed Grass, this too adapts to diverse conditions. Foliage is semi-evergreen, flowers appear throughout spring and summer.

For an enchanting experience, press a few of its leaves between the pages of a heavy book. When it is dried they will turn a deep purplish-black.
