Oxalis (Redwood Sorrel) : Oxalis Oregana

$6.00 - $12.00

Plant type: deciduous, perennial groundcover
Height: 2 - 8"

Light: part to full shade
Soil: moist

Growth rate: moderate, then fast
PPL: YES

Native to moist PNW forests, this plant blankets cool, damp shadows.

A great ground cover for shade. Pink and white flowers peak through the greenery in the spring, and its three, heart-shaped leaflets are sure to bring you lots of luck.

A taste of the leaves reveals a sour green apple flavor that comes from the oxalic acid for which it is named. In high quantities it can be toxic, but sampling a leaf or two is a fun treat.

Plant it with a plethora of shady ground covers for best results (Maianthemums, fairybells, Vancouveria, Vanilla Leaf, etc.)
