Deer Fern : Blechnum spicant
Deer have been observed rubbing their antler stubs on this plant after shed. Correspondingly, first peoples have used Deer Fern for various dermatological and medicinal remedies.
Mature fronds are deep green, 1-3 feet tall, narrower and sleeker than Sword Fern fronds. Like most of its fern friends, it does best in moist or wet, partially shady conditions.
Tasteful in rock and shade gardens.
