Western Bunchberry : Cornus unalaschkensis

$6.00 - $13.00

Plant type: deciduous groundcover
Height: 4 - 8"

Light: full shade for the most part
Soil: moist

PPL: YES

A dogwood groundcover - nature is amazing. White bracts serve as white petals that turn to bright red pectin-rich berries. Gorgeous fall color. Needs some shade and a rich soil community (with duff - needles or rotting wood).

If you can get this to establish in your shade garden, it’ll be the talk of the town.

FWIW: the botanists are at it again; this was once identified as Cornus canadensis, but that is now used as the name for the eastern US cousin of this species and C. unalaschkensis is straight west coastin'.
