The many upright stems of light pink and white flowers provide nectar to a suite of pollinators, including the endangered Fender’s blue butterfly. This checkermallow is an ideal ornamental and can be used to jazz up fence lines, driveways, or hedges.

It's a drought tolerant sun-lover, but does not mind a mist, especially in the heat of the summer. Checkermallow overwinters well and often keeps its green leaves year-round, even after blooms die back.
